Summary:
Moscow's A Gentleman is a novel written by Amor Towles. The plot of the novel is set at the beginning of the Russian Empire of the 20th century and follows the story of Count Alexander Ilyich Rostov and his life at the Metropol Hotel, where he had been under house arrest for thirty-two years.
Strengths:
I loved the Count and all of his interactions, particularly those with Nina and later with Sophia. This gentlemen has made me laugh out loud too many times.
Weaknesses:
I could not stand the main character as I found him to be pretentious and superficial. The plot lacked realism and I do not feel it reflects the Russia of that time.
My Opinion:
This book was so good. Words like perfect and fantastic come to mind. The writing was absolutely fantastic. This book should not be rushed. Don't read this book easily. This book should be savoured and steadily loved.
