Summary:
This classic novel about an orphan girl who mistakenly arrives to the home of an elderly brother and sister, "Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert", on Prince Edward Island, who really only desired an orphan boy to support Matthew with duties. Hearts are strengthened after an initial fiasco over sending Anne back to the orphanage and bringing the boy they had expected and Anne continues to reshape her life in what turns out to be very pleasant ways for everyone involved.
Strengths & Weaknesses:
In this novel, there is a strong sense of style which sets it apart from other novels. The novel is fun, with fascinating insights into human nature and delightful details. One weakness is that the story ends with an open ending, leading to endless plot questions.
My Opinion:
The novel is fascinating to read, in my view, because it provides a deep insight in a heartwarming way into an orphan life. I really liked this book because it makes a lot of sense to explain many things, such as the characters emotions and the scenes views. The book made me look at the island of Prince Edward more closely.
