Summary:

I’ve watched so many documentaries in my life, but this one is completely different. Sometimes watching documentaries can be quite boring but I was so engaged with Seaspiracy, I remember staying in bed the whole day watching it. This documentary mainly talks about the environment we live in, in the 20th century. Thinking about it you would normally say so what we’ve heard about tons of those. But this documentary talks about a guy in his early 20’s whose curiosity got the best of him, he goes and travels across continents to find the real reason for what our environment is going through today. And in fact the more he traveled the more he revealed secrets we’ve never known before, which has just shocked and amazed me and many others for sure.

What did you learn?

I’ve learned so much in this documentary, I’ve discovered things I never knew were in our world. I expanded my thinking and knowledge in this topic so widely, since I was extremely interested in our environment. I’ve learned that the equivalent of a garbage truckload of plastics dumped in the sea every single minute, this shocked me completely. In South Japan (Taiji) each year over 700 dolphins and small whales are herded into a cove to be slaughtered, this has been top secret until this documentary has discovered the problem that has been affecting everyone where more secrets have been found out. People who ever tried to help or stop this have been killed or in slavery, Japan police have also known about this for a very long time. and has done nothing. And after a long hour of this documentary I realised shockingly that the main problem of our environment is indeed fishing, I’ve always thought that the effects were because of the use of cars, plastics, electricity and all the other things we've been taught. Yes, it does have its effects but not as much as fishing.

How will you use the information?

Since watching this documentary and gaining more knowledge about the topic I know the do’s and don’ts of how to help our environment. And most of all I’ve learned a big aspect of something I am interested in. Every time a person will ask me I will have understood the majority of the topic because of this documentary. I’ve benefited with more knowledge and understanding.

Who would enjoy this documentary?

In my opinion not many would find this documentary engaging, some might find it completely boring. But anyone aged 13 and above and is interested or into knowing more about our environment and the creatures living in the sea and what's actually going on outside of the world of work and life tasks, will completely enjoy watching it. I've had so much fun watching this and have learned things I never knew existed.
