The 100: Rebellion by Kass Morgan

Rating: 5/5

Summary:

The 100: rebellion, is a sequel book to 'the 100' which is the first book in the book series. After the dropships fell from the sky carrying the rest of the people on 'the ark' (a space station that had 3 generations of people after the nuclear war destroyed earth), Clarke and Bellamy along with the rest of the juvenile delinquents sent down from the ship have went from intruders on earth to the leaders of their people as they are the only ones with true experience on the ground. When everyone starts to settle in and cozy up to their new home, Clarke and Bellamy hear terrible news that Octavia (Bellamy's sister), Wells and Glass have been taken by the grounders and were being brainwashed to fight against their friends and tell there weaknesses and secrets. Bellamy and Clarke go on a journey to find their friends and overcome some obstacles along the way.

Strengths

I really enjoyed reading the continuance of the first book, I forgot how much I liked this book. It has a unique story with captivating details that makes you more interested in the book, its suspenseful and has a future outlook which is my favourite things about the story. I loved Clarke's character the most because she showed leadership, she's selfless and caring to people she's barley spent a month with but she obviously sees them as family already.

Weaknesses:

Because the story was a continuation of the first book there weren’t a lot of surprises and plot twists, there was nothing unexpected because i was expecting a conflict in the second book to drive the readers more intrigued.

My Opinion:

Personally, I loved the story, its always an adventure reading a book from 'the 100' book series. I love the vibe 'the 100' books give off because its so different and new, I like how it portrays the future and survival that part is very exciting to read. This book goes more into how the 100 delinquents have become like family and come to care deeply about one another, it really shows that the story can be brutal and vicious while also being caring and kind. which is one of the things that made the books very special.
