Summary:

Greg must survive middle school while dealing with his two annoying brothers Manny and Rodrick. At least he has his best friend, Rowley Jefferson, but his behavior can be intolerable, so the friendship may not last, Greg begins his journal by describing the other students and analyzing middle school popularity. He tells the story of an old slice of cheese left outside on a basketball court. If someone touches the cheese, they are cursed. Greg introduces his older brother, Rodrick, who plays drums in a heavy-metal band and plays merciless tricks on Greg; his younger brother, Manny, who is treated like a prince; and his best friend, Rowley.

Strengths of the story:

The strengths of the story that i liked is that the drawings is funny and the book is like reading gregs real journal not the story writing, and that the author included many characters.

Weaknesses of the story:

The weaknesses in the story that I didn’t like is that it will be a little hard for younger kids to understand some word’s and I think they need to add more details to the drawings.

My opinion of the story:

In my own opinion I think that the story is telling a real life story of kids in schools that have problems in many things like, finding friends, getting popular so you could get attention from the other students and grades.

Its a mix of both happy and sad, because some days were hard for Greg and some were fun and easy.

In my opinion Teens will mostly enjoy it.

Hard days will get pass and you need to be patient in your life and work hard not like Greg.

10. What would you change about the story?

Main character, Greg is not a good example for upper elementary and middle school students to learn from, he is lazy, rude, a complainer, and never sees his self wrong.
