Summary:

In the Chicago of the distant future, society has willingly segregated itself into five "factions:" Abnegation (the selfless), Amity (the kind), Candor (the honest), Dauntless (the brave), and Erudite (the intelligent). All 16-year-olds take an aptitude test revealing their true faction and then choose one to join -- regardless of which one they were born into. When Abnegation-born Beatrice Prior's results are inconclusive, her tester informs her she's a "divergent" and should never mention her results to anyone. Believing herself too selfish to be any good in Abnegation, she chooses Dauntless, where she rechristens herself Tris. During the dangerous bloody Dauntless initiation process, she develops feelings for her handsome, mysterious instructor Four, who never fails to challenge her to perform her best, even as others grow jealous of her unexpected skills. And Tris beings to realize being a Divergent has both advantages and disadvantages.

Strengths

This book just shows that no matter where your born and where you live you can be your own person at 16 they choose which faction they wanna be in, Beatrice is a Amity but she choose to be Dauntless, i love this book so much and I would highly recommend reading it.

Weaknesses:

Honestly i loved this book just the way it is I don't wanna change anything about it. The story is unique and very nice and the words are well written.

My Opinion:

I really love this book, I really loved seeing things through Beatrice Prior's , a young strong 16 year old girl from abnegation struggling to figure out what being "Divergent" is, perspective. I've read all the books including "Four" from Tobias Eaton's point of view. Veronica Roth is truly a great author, not many authors can make me feel for books the way she did, she even made me cry a couple times in the third book. The series is really a wonder. The movies are good to, but as usual, nowhere close to how good the book series is.
