Summary:
This book shows how society effects the individual in a way that it takes over his/her life. Samantha, a girl that has obsessional OCD, has to suffer daily with her friends as well as her thoughts that shrink her into this small hole of horror. The book goes through the she overcomes her obsession with the help of her friend, Caroline, that leads her to the Poet’s corner, but there is a twist...
Strengths:
The strengths of the story is that it shows the unstoppable way of finding yourself, with the help of others, not to shy out of what you want, but also, take into consideration the feelings of others as well as respect them.
Weaknesses:
It interprets the way society just holds you in this bubble and wants to control you. They want you just like a puppet and would never accept you unless you are confident with your choices and physically show it.
My Opinion:
I really liked the story. I liked the way that it normalizes mistakes and illustrates it as trials and errors. Making choices that are ‘mistakes’ to others is totally fine. Adding up to that, I liked the way that the main character was so determined to live the imagine of ‘normal’ in society only to find that being different is good and that’s what society is build of.
