Goosebumps: The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb by R. L. Stine

Summary:

Main characters are Gabe and sari uncle Ben and Ahmed. Gabe spending his Christmas vacation in Egypt because his parents have business there. Gabe parters received an emergency phone call and had to leave Gabe with his famous archaeologist uncle Ben. While Gabe was waiting fo uncle Ben to arrive he was playing with he’s good luck mummy hand charm that he bought at a garage sell a few years ago. Uncle Ben came with his daughter Sari. Sari was the same age as Gabe, and she is very annoying that don’t get along. Uncle Ben informed Gabe that his team has discovered a new tunnels beneath the pyramid. The next day Ben and the children go to the pyramid. Ben warns to stay close to him. Uncle Ben wants to find the priestess Khufu. Gabe got lost in the tunnels the floor was cracking apart beneath him, and he fell into a chamber full of mummies leaning against the walls, and found some tools and materials to make mummies. A couple minutes later Sari found him she got separated by his dad too. They found out that the place was cursed and Ahmed mummified anyone that came in the chamber, to make trophies for Khala. Ben found the kids but Ahmed hit Ben hard on his head and put them into a coffin. They escaped from a tiny exit inside the coffin. Ahmed found them and wanted to push them into the hot boiling tart pit Gabe took out his lucky charm and put it high up his head and thought maybe he’ll get lucky. Ahmed suddenly his eyes grew wider and started shouting words in ancient Egyptian ;The hand of the priestess. All three of them stared over Ahmed’s shoulder in disbelief the mummies moved from their places and got Ahmed by his throat but Ahmed escaped the mummies. All the mummies went back to their original place and Gabe ,Sari and uncle Ben got back home safely.

Strengths

You don’t expect what will happen next. It’s surprising and adventurous to read chapter after chapter. It’s good how they make you imagine the characters in details. The book has a lot of detailed parts that I really enjoy.

Weaknesses:

He weakness of the story is that the ending was too simple and not satisfying at all. The curse came a life in the end of the book ,literally the last chapter. I would change and make it more interesting and more adventurous at least the last five chapters, giving the curse more a value.

Opinion:

My opinion is the book is good and well written with a lot of details that I really enjoyed reading the book, but I don’t agree with the author to put the curse in the end chapter of the book and making it too easy to escape the curse.
