I am Malala by Malala Yousafzai

Updated: Mar 16, 2021

Rating: 3/5

Summary:

The book was an autobiography, of the great Malala Yousafzai, the girl who stood up for education and was shot by the Taliban. It talks about her life before the Taliban took over, how it changed after, her experience of getting shot and most importantly, how she fought for her educational rights

Strengths:

I like that everything that was stated, with even the tiniest details in events. The description of life events was so specific and detailed, you sometimes feel like you're watching as a movie.

Weaknesses:

It doesn't have many pictures as I would have liked. And it has some difficult terms, so I think it should include easier words, to completely understand everything said and written, also it had some statements that weren't in English, showcasing culture, but they were a bit difficult.

My Opinion:

I like Malala's story, she is a true fighter, and a voice for those in her village, wanting their right of education. She didn't let anything stop in her way and even won a Noble prize at the age of 16! What an achievement. Her story was an inspiration for me.
