Summary:
This book is the story of Pi Patel. A young boy who gets stranded in the middle of the ocean with a tiger named Richard Parker after a boat wreck that lead to the death of his family and many animals in his families zoo. The book follows the journey of the boy, as he tries to get to land, while surviving the hunger of Richard Parker.
Strengths
I love the ending so much. (everyone enjoys a happy ending don't they :D) Richard Parker and Pi parting ways after such a harrowing journey together is so bittersweet.
Weaknesses:
I did feel the need for the author to take up multiple chapters just to explain that the characters name is Piscine Molitor Patel. It was very interesting but not very necessary.
Opinion:
I really loved this story. I enjoyed how, as time goes by, you can see Pi's slow mental and physical decay. The ideologies, such as Pi's love for theology and zoology, are continuously sprinkled throughout the book.
