Summary:
Within the years after the Civil war, Jo March lives in New York and makes her residing as a creator, whilst her sister, Amy, researches painting in Paris. Amy has a threat come-across with Theodore, a adolescent, who proposed to Jo. However, he was ultimately rejected. Their oldest sibling, Meg, is married to a schoolteacher, while the shy sister, Beth, develops a devastating illness that brings the family again together.
Strengths:
A wonderful story of family love, mother-daughter relationships, father-daughter relationships, sister-sister relationships, and partners. There are some fantastic quotations included. "Just because my dreams are different than yours, doesn't mean they're unimportant," I adore.
Weaknesses:
The cover wasn't appealing much and I am the type of person that will judge the book from it's cover even though that's not right it's just how I like searching for books.
My Opinion:
It's one of my favourite books. I loved it so much. The way the author played out the whole thing, even in such a way that the important focuses of the story were highlighted and not brushed aside and really developing each character so well from the beginning. I just wish we had seen more of Meg and Jo Laurie's relationship develop, but she did her best and brought the book to life in just a brief amount of time.
