Summary:
This book was a selection of short entrees (written like poems) about a little 10 year old called Hà who lived in Saigon. When the Vietnam war reaches her house she had to escape with her family to America.
Strengths
The story was written in a very poetic capturing way, the author made the characters's feeling real and her experiences were based on the authors life (which I loved and found intresting).
Weaknesses:
I felt like the story was short, it ended abruptly and I wanted to read more about the main character and her adventures in America, as well as how she settled in.
My Opinion:
I really loved the story, it was very captivating and beautiful. The family was struggling a lot with the grief of losing their home, but the way they showed each other love was heartwarming.
