Summary:
Moxie is a story about women coming together as one and defending each other, to correct the mistake that society gave women. It's a story about a young high school girl who was so fed up by everything said to women and done to them in her school that she decided to write a book, smashing the patriarchy. in her book she wrote about the things that are unfair between men and women and how it needed to be equal, most importantly she made a sign that said draw stars on your hands for support, so the school would notice what's wrong with their them and fix it. they organized wake outs and protests to give women their fair rights. at the end in a walk out of school she's seen that she achieved her goal and decided to revel her identity as the women who wrote 'moxie'(the name of the book she wrote).
Strengths:
I loved the story, it was such an amazing feeling reading this story and knowing that there are some very strong feminists in our society who will stop at nothing to help right the wrong that's been set from the beginning of time. I loved the main character, she is very inspiring and a strong character.
Weaknesses:
I didn’t like the characters that even in the end were against the movements of making the school equal and less terrifying to go to everyday. I would change some characters that seemed to unique to some common people that would make the story all the more powerful and truly pointing out the problem.
My Opinion:
Personally, I loved the story, it had such a powerful message and a successful ending, it was inspiring and astonishing to read. For a fictional story, it had a lot of affects on it's readers I'm sure and it definitely had an affect on me, I was so moved by every speech, every statement said in the book that I would probably read it again.
