Summary:

Ready player one is a novel about a boy called Wade Watts who is a teenager in the year 2045, when the world has gone through so much bad things that humans just stopped fixing and one human in particular thought of a way to escape the horror that was called "normal" by creating a virtual reality world called the OASIS, where people would live the lives they wanted to live and be the people they wanted to be, they selected their avatars based on who they wanted to be, alien, human, animal, whatever you can think of, all this created by James Halliday who died. James Halliday died in 2039, when he died he left a challenge for everyone in the OASIS, which was three Easter eggs and the one who wins gets full ownership of the OASIS. It has been six years and no one won any of the Easter eggs but they found the first one which was the impossible race, Wade and his best friend Aech try winning the race every time but they couldn’t even the the sixers couldn’t win (the sixers are a part of a huge technology company who wants to take over the OASIS, and become the best technological company). As Wade was looking into James Halliday's past for any clues, he manages to catch a quote James said about going backwards so Wade tries it and wins the race, he meets James Halliday's avatar who hands him a key that he won the first Easter egg, Wade tells his friends so slowly they all won. while everyone focused on completing the second challenge, the sixers had figured out where the last key is, to slow Wade and his friend's down the sixers kidnap Artemis (Wade's friend) and put her in a virtual jail. as their journey continues and they face the impossible obstacles including kidnapping, a rescue mission, knowing each other's real world identities and more, Wade eventually wins all three Easter egg challenges.

Strengths:

The story was so intriguing and I loved the tone of the whole story, it gave very intense action mood which was very enjoyable to read and imagine. I loved one special moment which was the ending because it was very exciting to discover what happens in the end, I also really liked the characters and how different they are in the OASIS and the real world. My favourite character would be James Halliday because even though he died there was depth in his character that intrigued me about his past more.

Weaknesses:

Even though the story was amazing and exciting, it was very deeply detailed that I got lost while i was reading, I couldn’t keep up with all the details and events happening at the same time. the book was very long and but it felt rushed but that's what kept me so invested in the story.

My Opinion:

Personally, I think the story was amazing, it was full of action, fun and excitement. The story was one event after the other which was my favourite thing, but it would get kind of confusing at one point that I have to put the book down and think for a minute. The story was very thrilling, it kept me excited on the same level my whole way reading, I loved the character's avatars and their real world selves even more.
