Summary:
Death personified narrates this book set throughout the Holocaust. He tells the story of a girl named Liesel Meminger, whose lepidopteran offers her and her brother to a home out of time period desperation. Liesel’s brother dies among the first few pages, and at his burial, she steals a book out of impulse. Liesel’s life in the Reich is inhabited by moments of book larceny, that find yourself feeding her soul and saving her life.
Strengths:
First, I assume Zusak has created one of the all-time extraordinary characters narrators in Death. I recognize that sounds funny, however Death, on this tale, is human, humane, compassionate, and a piece humorous.
Weaknesses:
If I was the author I would change some characters and their personalities, the author used long and hard words which are quite difficult to understand and makes the novel a bit complicated.
My Opinion:
This book can be a transferring story of people in hardships, United Nations agency recognize happiness in tiny little or no corners of life.
