Mini Book Review

Rating: 4/5
Summary:
The Book Thief is a story told by Death, who tells us about Liesel, a little girl living up in Nazi Germany during world war 2. She "borrows"(steals) books, teaches herself to read, and seeks comfort in words. The only two characters who escape the conflict are her and Max, the Jew her family protects.
What I liked:
It's a sweet, childish relationship that is cut short by tragedy.
What I did not like:
I didn’t like Liesel she had no personality, and it was put very out of context that she isn't a thief after all even though she stole multiple books.
What I learnt:
Nothing, it was a waste of time all because I wanted to read it fully through to give it a fair review.
How long did it take to complete?
2 weeks
