Rating: 5/5

Summary:

After the Gladers last joinery, they lost one of their friends who had been captured by WC.K.D during their fight to escape. Thomas guides his friends and the right arm back to the last city, which is monitored by W.C.K.D, to save their friend. They try to break into the last city which is one of the most dangerous mazes they'll ever see, seeking answers to the questions they’ve been asking themselves since they entered the maze (in the first book).

Strengths:

What I liked the most was the part where they rescue Minho and the other kids who were captured by W.C.K.D. I also liked the part before, when they break into W.C.K.D by being disguised as guards, because it was creative and exciting to read. Even though I didn’t agree with Newt's death, he died while doing so much to help his friends to get this far and rescue the others and Minho, which was one of the greatest parts in the story.

Weaknesses:

I didn’t like that Newt died because he was my favourite character and he didn’t deserve to die. I would change Newt's death, because he's helped with so much in the journey and it didn’t seem right that he was not immune. The story's events were spectacular, but most of the characters lacked development, they remained the same with no change after all they've been through, it wasn’t very convincing.

My Opinion:

I loved The Death Cure of the Maze Runner book series, I wish I had read the previous book in between "the scorch trails" and " the death cure" but I was starting to get bored of the story so I decided to read the last book which was most recommended. The story had the prefect ending and was the best maze runner book, I didn’t like the death of my favourite character (Newt) but he died a hero and I was happy with most of the author's choices.
