Summary:
It’s a book about a girl from the 1698 who wasn’t satisfied about her life in in Villon-France and wanted to leave it, but her parents didn’t allow her to. They tried to force her to marry a rich man when she reached her mid-twenties. She ran away on her wedding night and made a deal with the god of the darkness in exchange for her soul. It allowed her to be immortal, but in exchange she will never leave a mark and no one will remember her. We ended up following her life till the year 2014!
Strengths:
The story have showed a lot about the history of France and Europe, all the wars that happened and how she coped with them. It also have shined a light on the stories of the old gods and what kind of deals they made with humans and how to not mess with them and how she managed to leave a mark in the end.
Weaknesses:
I didn’t find many weaknesses in this book, it was truly amazing. However the pace of the story in the beginning was very slow and the details were a bit boring but in the end the plot got faster and better.
My Opinion:
In my opinion this is a very enjoyable book that will keep you hanging on the characters, I lived with Addie through her ups and downs and enjoyed every moment of it with her. I would definitely read it again.
