Summary:
The sun is also a star is a story about two people- A girl called Natasha that doesn’t believe in love, fate, magic and everything that is unexplainable by science and a boy called Daniel who completely believes in love, fate and meant to be. The boy meets the girl while trying to stop her from getting killed by a car, because she's listening to music and not focusing on her surroundings. As the two have a conversation, the topic of love comes up and she explains to the boy why she doesn’t believe in love, so the boy promises her she'll fall in love with him if she gives him a day. The two then spend an intense 12 hours together talking about the key ingredients of love and connecting with each-other, they go to places and talk about their point of views. The girl finds her self losing and slowly falling in love with the boy, but she then realized that when she found the right person to love, she was moving away. Their love journey continues on.
Strengths:
The story was very touching, I loved how it showed how people can change their minds and how the connections between the two were described. I loved the simplicity and the character development, it was pure. And I especially loved that the author gave little information and backstory as you go deeper into the book, I think that is what gave it such a unique touch.
Weaknesses:
There was one thing, at the end of the story we weren’t told what happened, what they were doing, the ending of the story was kind of left untold. And it felt a bit rushed, like non of the moments were truly experienced enough.
My Opinion:
The story was absolutely incredible, it was so captivating and it takes you on a journey with Daniel and Natasha. I personally loved how the story was based on a coincidence, truly shows you that the littlest things around you can form a whole new future. I was so deep into the story that I finished it in one read, which rarely happens. I liked that the author gave little details about the two characters backgrounds as you go deeper into the story. Lastly, the story was very simple which added a nice touch to it. I highly recommend reading it!
