The Switch by Beth O'Leary

Rating: 4/5

Summary:

The story centres around Eileen and Leena. Eileen is Leena's grandmother and she is tired of getting old and doesn't want to be lonely and forgotten. While Leena is stressed about how she got a 3 month leave from her work. The two decide to switch lives, one goes to live in the busy city, while the other goes back to her cozy hometown.

Strengths

This was the perfect, sweet, slice of life story that I needed after exam weeks. It had a very cozy atmosphere and extremely lovable characters. I loved how each character embraced their own personalities while living an opposite city.

Weaknesses:

The romance aspect in Leena's life was very unnecessary, It felt forced and out of the blue. Other than that I have no complaints because the book was the perfect spring read.

Opinion:

I would probably re-read this book if I was in a reading slump. It was very uplifting and sweet, and it really made me wonder what kind of relationship I'd have with my grandmother if she was still alive.
