My brother and I went shopping with my mother for school supplies. We kept losing our supplies somehow - guess we're very forgetful.
Walking into the school supply store, everything looked absolutely gorgeous. I just wanted to buy the whole store, pencils, markers, notebooks, colored pencils...the list goes on.
We paid for everything and left the store.
As we were walking around the mall, we passed this book store and something caught my eye... it was "The Mushroom Princess". I was looking for this book everywhere! Everything princess related always made me happy.
I ran to my mother and said ,"Mom! Can we buy this book, I've been looking for it everywhere!
"No", she said, in the coldest tone.
I begged and begged and she kept saying no.
"Can I at least look around the book store please?"
"Sure but be quick"
I kept on admiring Princess Mushroom. How can a drawing be pretty? Actually, how can a mushroom be pretty?
I looked around and no one was near me, my brother nor my mother were paying attention to me. I slowly opened to prevent attention, and quickly shoved the book into my bag.
"Let's go home now", I said. I was excited that no one caught me.
When we reached home, I hid in the bathroom excitedly opened my bag. I finally got my hands on this book!
It was such an amazing story, unexpected plots, the Princess doesn't need a prince to save her, it was just perfect. I started to feel guilty after a while. Should I tell my mother? I'll just keep it a secret.
A few days had passed, it was my birthday! I walked down the stairs excitedly and saw a huge cake just for me! I had lots of fun and I forgot about the book. My mom then brought her gift, "surprise!" I opened it and I felt so guilty I wanted to cry. It was the book... I couldn't help but cry in my mothers arms and that's where I confessed everything.
She wasn't mad, instead she was happy that I didn't keep it a secret. We then went to the bookstore and confessed everything and returned the stolen book, they thanked me for returning the book and forgave me. It felt nice now that I confessed and don't have to live with the guilt.
Moral of the story, DON'T steal, better things are about to come.
