Wish Well

Characters:

- Maria - Shop owner - The well

Once upon a time, there was a girl, she was ten years old and her name was Maria. Maria was sad about her loneliness, but loved to help others. She had a bakery that she paid rent for every month. The owner of the shop was hard-hearted, she was hard on Maria and treated her very badly. The owner always went to get the rent before the month was up, but Maria called her and asked her to be patient with her for two days before collecting the money, due to the lack of customers. The owner severely disagreed, she said, "I have nothing to do with what you say about my money. If customers don't come to you to buy baked goods, I want the rent now."

Maria begged her to give her two days, the shop owner replied, saying: "I'll give you two days only, and if you don't pay me, I'll fire you and your baked goods at once." Maria replied, "Don't worry, I promise you'll get the money in just two days." The owner of the shop left, leaving Maria drowning in her worries. She hardly saves her day, as the customers are very few these days, so she asked herself. She said, "Oh God, help me to save money, otherwise I will lose my livelihood." A lady walked into the bakery. She saluted her.

“Can I help you,”? said Maria ,

“yes, I want three breads of different kinds.”

The lady said: “Bread with vanilla flavor, bread with milk, and bread with jasmine.” Maria gave bread to the lady; so the lady asked her about the price, and she said that it was only 3 aed, the lady said to her: “Go ahead, the price of the three baked goods.” That woman was the only one who had bought bread from Maria that day, and on Maria's way home. It was a dark night, and suddenly, as she was walking, she heard a voice saying: "Come, little girl." Fear struck Maria, who said with great difficulty, “Who is calling me?” The voice replied, “I am the well.” I am not like the rest of the wells. "I don't see you," said Maria. He said to her: “I will light my light so that you can see me.” He lit the well, and Maria was shocked by it’s beauty. The well said to her: “I can fulfill all your wishes for you. “What makes you help a poor girl like me?” Maria said. The well said to her: “Look,” and a girl, white as snow, came out of the well. “Who is that girl?” Maria said. “The well said to her, 'That girl is you from inside.'”

Maria said: “I will ask you three wishes. Maria returned to her home and found diamonds, money and gold. She was very happy. She returned to the well the next morning, and Maria said to him: “I am Maria, you well who helped me yesterday.” He said to her, “What do you want?” She said, “I came to thank you.” He replied, “Indeed, I am the one who should thank you because you asked for a wish that no one asked before, which is that all the poor become rich.” “Excuse me, well,” said Maria. “Bye bye.” He said to her, “Bye, Maria.” Maria went back to her bread shop, paid the rent for the shop owner, and then bought the shop from her. She had some repairs to the shop to become a factory selling bread and honey. The bakery trade flourished with her and her shop became the most famous bread shop in her village and the neighboring villages. She had a number of workers, and Maria knew that God did not waste anyone's patience.

Lesson learned: God rewards people with good hearts with goodness, as happened when the well gave her money and diamonds and she was able to buy the shop she could not pay for.
