Your body language may shape who you are by Amy Cuddy

Watch the TED Talk here.

Summary:

Cuddy talks on how humans can read body language in a few of seconds. That's important to know for those of us who think body language is more mysterious or difficult to believe, or that analyzing it takes a long time. Our body language expresses the idea, but it's not always a favorable one. Cuddy emphasizes the importance of negative body language, stating that when we stand away from someone or fold our arms, we are expressing our disapproval or anger. Relax your posture by spreading your arms and exhibiting an open face. This was the most fascinating element. We are also communicating with ourselves when we communicate with others in a non-verbal manner. We're boosting our own self-esteem, projecting a specific mood, and disclosing our feelings.
